On the one hand, companies can use it to make their current employees look better on social media, which is a good thing. On the other hand, candidates can use this pre-emptively so that their profiles look squeaky clean for the interview. Not necessarily a bad thing, unless they are hiding something that could affect their job performance. Overall, the article suggests that you educate current employees and new hires on your social media policy, or start working on developing a social media policy.
