Forming a relationship with a recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) provider brings a host of benefits. While you may know that an RPO solution can save time, effort and money, there is also added benefit to your employment brand. One of the biggest differentiators of an RPO solutions from traditional talent acquisition solutions is that the RPO partner does not represent their brand. They represent yours in all steps of the recruitment process. What are some of the other less known benefits of an RPO solution? The Recruitment Process Outsourcing Association interviewed Michael Muzi of Taylor Strategy Partners, to talk about employment branding and the hidden values of working with an RPO partner.
Your Employment Brand is Upfront
When you’re recruiting new talent, you want to make sure that your employment brand is clear to any candidates that comes your way. According to Muzi, one of the benefits of working with an RPO partner is that “they embody the core values of [the client] organization, including their value proposition.” In an RPO relationship, it’s the job of the RPO and their team to represent your company and your brand at all levels of the sourcing and recruiting process. Because of this, the best RPOs will make sure to invest time and effort in understanding your culture and values, so they can present a clear, accurate, and unified picture of your value proposition when they’re talking with candidates.

There are a number of criteria that you can use to gauge whether an RPO provider is representing your brand adequately. If the provider is really communicating your company’s vision and value successfully during the recruiting and hiring process, there should be a decrease in turnover as new employees come on board who are more aligned to your company’s long term vision, brand and culture. Additionally, Muzi states that “when RPOs effectively communicate the company's values through the interview process, hiring teams will likely get candidates that are better aligned to the long term vision. As a result, unnecessary recruiting and HR costs should be reduced as well.”

Become Differentiated in the Talent Marketplace
Talent is at a premium, and competition for top talent is fierce. Recruitment process outsourcing can help to set you apart from the crowd through easing the hiring process and improving the candidate experience. For example, one way that RPO providers can assist clients is “suggesting more efficient processes and technologies.” According to Muzi, this can create a better experience for candidates, and “if the applicant experience is a positive one, it will create a buzz for your organization in the recruiting marketplace.”

Manage Business Demands
While quick growth is a goal of many enterprises, it can create problems as demand for talent sharply increases and internal recruiting can’t keep up. In contrast, recruitment process outsourcing is “designed to be a scalable solution, allowing organizations to manage the ebbs and flows of business demands more effectively,” says Muzi. Particularly for quick-growing or seasonal businesses, RPO provides a flexibility and quick scalability that can relieve concerns over personnel and allow you to focus on growth, knowing that you will get the talent you need to succeed.

RPO providers bring many great benefits to the client, but the relationship will be most successful if best practices are followed. For example, it’s best to work with an RPO provider who has experience in your industry, as they bring knowledge, best practices, and instant credibility to the recruiting table. As Muzi says, “any time you bring industry expertise to the relationship, the more likely you are to being producing results quickly.” Additionally, because the RPO solution can cross multiple department and positions, it’s important to create a flexible RPO solution that can work with existing client resources. With industry experience and internal flexibility, your RPO solution will have the best chance of bringing you the value you need.
