2014 recruiting trendsChristmas is less than a week away! The New Year will be here in exactly two weeks. This year has been a big year for hiring and recruiting, and 2014 will, hopefully, be bigger. What trends should we expect for the coming year? What should organizations evaluate this year to ensure a successful recruiting strategy and process? This week's RPO news roundup should be a big help.

Top 25 Recruiting Trends, Problems, and Opportunities for 2014 (Part 2 of 2) - Ere.net - The first part in this two part series covered trends and opportunities. The second part focuses on 11 recruiting problems that are likely to occur in 2014, as well as a few 2013 problems that will subside. Re-engineering college recruiting is one area that employers ought ot think about, adjusting the budget to include online universities, "passive" college students, and remote college recruiting. Turnover is going to be tougher to handle as more employees will chase exciting job opportunities in exchange for job security (or lack thereof), creating "sudden" openings and further straining recruiting pipelines.

Obamacare's Impact on Hiring and Recruiting - The RPO Hub - Obamacare has made a few changes in recent months, one of the most relevant to employers is the one-year delay in providing health insurance to employees. Most companies don't see an impact on their hiring plans, since most companies are either too small for Obamacare to matter, or too large for the new health care law to make a difference. It's those companies hovering around the 50-employee mark that will have the biggest changes to their hiring and recruiting needs.

How You Can Predict Your Future Staffing Needs - The Seamless Workforce -The best way to predict your future staffing needs is by talking to your staffing partners and internal recruiters about their pain points and challenges. Where do they need the most help? What's making their jobs difficult? Which areas and job openings don't need any help? If you're trying to figure out where to allocate your recruiting resources, then talk to those who will be using these resources. There's no point in guessing or throwing resources away if you don't have to.

Predictive Analytics in HR: Focusing Training and Development - Method3 - Training and developing your employees is critical in retention and company culture, and predictive analytics can used to ensure that your train and develop your employees the right way. This means taking training and development to an individual level, determining which employees need new skills and which need skill refreshers. Predictive analytics can be used to figure out the typical career trajectories within your organization. For example, if people who move up the ladder typically go through a sales management role, then perhaps training your best new hires in sales management will better prepare them for the upward career progression within your company.
